Been reading all the speaker threads. But wanna know if anyone has sub's on their tower? Is it worth it? Is 1 enough?
I know I'll need an amp, and am thinking about building the the housing myself (I'll probably regret it Confused )
Are tower clamps easy to come by, or do they need to be manufactured (I'm not a welder, but I do know mac OSX Wink ).
Or should I not be a cheap ass and buy the sub thats already built? Confused

The human ear can not detect to origin of a sub's frequencys therefor, don't need to mounted on a tower for good perfomance. There is really no need to mount it on the tower because the boarder wont be able to here it and the sub would sound much beter if mounted under a dash board or lower to the ground. With the sound waves bouncing off of more surfaces when mounted down lower, you'll get beter sound and an increase in performance. Don't waste your time.

These have 8" woofers - I've got 4 of 'em on my tower.

The subs on the tower are NOT for the wakeboarder. The first set I built was to fill the back seat of the missing bass. The next set was just because I had the room and the why not factor. Mr. Green

jbelson, I used to ride at Castaic. I'm moving back to Velencia in about 4 weeks and should be there for the rest of the summer. What do you ride behind. I've see just about all the boats the have wakeboarders at Castaic before but never met anybody. Sometimes I need riders to tag along for a ride in the X to help fill the gas tanks and wave flags. Let me know if you are interested.

X-Star, Sweet. I have a white and red Stingray w/ a black tower and red bimini. Used to be out there every weds. and sat. I work too much now for the weds. spot now.
I've heard that the state is trying to close down the lake due to budget cuts on July 1. But I've also heard that would be illegal due to a 20 year contract between the state and water municipality. Thats why I havent bought my yearly pass yet.
I'd love to tag along and ride behind a real wakeboarding boat. My ride is cool, especially for $20,000 less that a new wakeboard boat, but I dont think I quite have the wake shape with the deep V hull.
The two favs out there are the GIANT gas station in the AM, and Fosters Freeze on the way home.

well i would definetely go with what x-star said subs would definetely do better being in the boat but its your choice i mean if you dont have room then you have to go with the tower idea
