| Has anyone installed a wedge on a pre-wedge boat, such as a 93 Malibu Echelon? Does it help, or just turn the wake mushy, too steep, etc.? |

you can put a wedge on a 93 echelon - you will probably have to go through a dealer tho - they are picky about selling them since they are afraid someone will put one on a boat it is not designed for and have a liability claim.
It will make the wake significantly better - a little steep but that can be compensated with some ballast midship.
You wont regret puttin it on that boat. |

| the new wegde has a new shape, the wake isnt nearlly as steep with it as they use to be but makes the wake much larger. they are like $500 at the dealership, mine will let you just buy one and install it yourself or they will do it for you. if they dont have to take out your gas tank to put it on, its just like one hours labor |

| Dont do it. the wedge is a waste. Just add more balast. I have had three friends with echelon's and the wake is one of the best with just weight. Run like 1200 in the rear and 400 in the nose the wake will be good without the wedge. My friend has the wedge on his boat and we never use it. It makes the boat handle like crap. Stick with sacs |

Malibu DOES NOT recommend putting a wedge on an 89 sunsetter. They have had guys try, and they will not be responsible for the result. Add weight!!!
Also the wedge is a matter of personal preference - some people swear by it, and others will only use weight. I would recomend experimenting with different combos - that's what is nice about a Malibu! |
