I'm not sure which forum to put this in but I saw a few posts about board benches in here so I thought I would try it here. I have a contact where I can get some boards at a decent price and was thinking about selling board benches. I want to make the legs out of stained and varnished wood that is cut on a cnc router. The boards will be attached via stainless bolts. I will ship these with assembly required but each will be test fit before shipment. I am thinking I can get these sold for 199 plus shipping. Is this a fair price?

Sounds reasonable to me. If I had a lake house I would buy one for sure. Shipping probably wouldn't be cheap. I'd say at least $30.

Have you thought of a way to make the seat more comfortable. Do they make some kind of clear air cushion that you could laminate to the top of the boards so it wouldn't be so rigid yet you could still see the boards. This could be like an option you could sell.

coyn0839, sounds reasonable to me. I would've guessed higher just for material costs. Got one made? Post some pics?

Wakebrad, nice quote from Road Trip in your sig. Well played.

tball, I am expecting some boards to show up today. I will then make a proto that I plan on keeping. I will probably order some more to post on here and on ebay.

Wakebrad, Not sure how I would be able to laminet a "cushion" to it. I'll have to look into it.

QNev, For my personal protos, I am just using Plywood stained with Minwax Red Mahogany and a clear urethane varnish. I can use any type of wood in the future as long as I can find it at a reasonable price in 1 1/2" x 4 x 8 sheets.

coyn0839, i REALLY wanted one of these things, and i was thinking of building one myself, but then i saw your thread Very Happy

Another idea i had would be a small wakeboard table, and maybe we could attach some bindings for use as beer/soda can holders??? Mr. Green

Ill draw how i plan on making the legs for the table in a sec and get it uploaded.
