Anyone else still riding an early generation deck? Here is my original and only wakeboard bought at a boat show in spring 1997.
1996 - Full Tilt - Mike Weddington - Function 55

I wakeboarded a lot in my first years but the last 4 years I haven't made it out much and didn't have the money to get something newer. This year I getting back into it again and if I make it out as much as I want then I will get a new setup for next year
I cannot do any inverts, nor have a I tried. Butterslides, surface 3's, W2W grabs, 180's, 3's without the handle pass that's about it.
I have never tried a newer board so really I don't know what I'm missing out on.

| 410fortune - Offshore was my first board, too. Have moved on to newer setups, but still have respect for the board that introduced me to the sport. It's kinda like your first car, might have been a POS, but you'll always remember it.

I was riding a 98 Jobe Diablo and 99 Jobe Vibe until this summer. Now I moved up to a 00 Byerly 137 so you could say I am still riding old school, but I love how my Byerly rides. I am still looking for maybe a few more to have as spares. They are getting hard to find.

| I still occasionally break out my 98 O'Brien Banshee. It's a POS compared to my 2003 CWB Ecstacy though and the cwb isn't exactly a spring chicken.

| beau_bushnell, why? I love the way my 00 Byerly rides, and I know how it rides. Why spend 200+ on a board that I might not like. I dont need the latest and greatest stuff to be a good boarder. I will ride my Byerly until I cant anymore and hopefully I will have a spare by then and be able to ride that. I will ride 00-03 Byerlys until I cant find them anymore!

| yea man i learned on a big kahuna. Last year i used it as a wakesurfer alot, its pretty fun, you cant freeride it but you can thrash around alot which is pretty fun. I love that board though. With the 3 huge fins in the back, it rides like a surfboard. Fun to carve around on if you want to mix things up
