What the hell is it? I have seen 3 Nor Cal stickers on cars in the last 2 days and I live in Oregon so is it a surf company or clothing company or something?

I was telling a friend from Riverside that he needs to start doing "So-Cal" clothing a few weeks ago....He was actually more down to do So-cal area codes.....He said it's too wierd down there. Everyone is proud of thier area code, instead of "So-Cal'...

Kyle- They are all about area codes and then beaches. Like the Newport crowd and Hunnington crowd hate on each other it's really funny. And I'm just sitting around rocking the Nor*Cal like it's cool. "Dude you're really laid back but most people from up north are."

Haha, nor-cal...last time I went surfing down there, My board had 831 airbrushed across the whole bottom of the board. I was surfing Newport for 5 days, and was getting vibed hardcore because of my Santa Cruz area code...I think my shaper did it to me on purpose. Luckily I made it without any fighting, but lots of harsh words were exchanged...

I tell you what, Southern California is REALLY confusing. In San Diego there's not so much animosity about area codes, but there's just too many. Like 408 encompasses a HUGE amount of territory up there. Down here the equivalent amount of land has 3 area codes (619, 858, 760).

Plus, every town has its own sticker. You've probably seen 'em, it's just a big circular sticker with the town's initials in 'em. So DM is for Del Mar, O is for Oceanside, SD for San Diego obviously, etc. Even Leucadia, which is seriously like 2 square blocks has its own sticker!

Anybody remember when Santa Cruz was 415?

I remember when Santa Cruz was 408, but not 415.....415 is Frisco.....
415 used to come down the peninsula to Mountain View, but that was changed to 650 when they changed Santa Cruz Co. to 831....How long ago are you talking about Jester??

Are you sure it was 408? I seem to remember having to dial another area code to call over there for some reason. I know 415 is San Fran, but I thought SC was the same. I grew up in that area so basically since the early 80's, but my memory could very well be off. Happens when you get older. Wink
