So anyway ive been having real problems getting up and its pretty damn frustrating when I dont have unlimited time every day to try. Ill just explain what Im doing and if someone could give me some ideas I would appreciate that. Im being towed by an 06 sea ray, so nothing special by any means. Its just connected with a loop knot to the metal piece right below the engine. It is one of those roped where you can take sections off...Im using a liquid force synergy board. When im doing the deep water stars , I set it up outlined everywhere online where the board is perpindicular to the boat and the boat is directly in front of me. Is it neccesary that there be no slack on the rope or is a foot or two ok? How much of the board should be out of the water? How close should my chest be to my knees?
It doesnt seem to be possible for the board to be facing directly at the boat if I am sitting up in a ball like position since the board faces closer down towards the water. Usually the board just goes underwater or I get up for a second then it sinks. Should by back be in or out of the water? By the way im 6'2 and fairly thin. Any thoughts? |

put the boat in gear and get the rope tight... kness in tight to your chest and heels towards your ass.. let the boat roll you forward until your sliding.
from past experience if your sinking like a submarine when you stand up, your standing to quickly... _________________ Alright. It's Saturday night. I have no date, a two liter bottle of Shasta and my all rush mix tape. Let’s rock! |

| Is your back supposed to be lying on the water? |

| What i was actually trying to say was should I bring my back to my knees or my knees to my back, as in should I be lying down with my knees close, Or sitting up with my back strained and out of the water? |

| yeah that video helped me too. Keep your knees to your chest, your arms extended on the outside of your knees. When the boat takes off, just hold on dont fight it, you want your butt to slide toward your ankles. Your board may go underwater for a second or two, just keep holding on and rotate your board to the riding position. Once you plane out, stay crouched for a few seconds and slowly stand up and keep your weight on your back foot. Dont stand up too quickly or your board will sink and you will go down. Watch the video, it'll really help |

Hey Newman, I was having trouble at first getting up. I'm 6f 4" and weight 210 pound. At first I thought it was a mental and gravity problem. And then their was added pressure from my 2 mates getting up and managing to do laps while poor old me was left to snort half the lake up my nose in falied attempts to get up.
I then came on this website and read up on how to get up. I also watched the link the other 2 guys mentioned above me here and it helped a great deal.
Next time I went down to the lake I got up first time. I did a few basic things differently then I had before and if I can share them with you hopefully from one tall guy to another it will help.
The rope has to be tight (I'm on the back of a jet ski by the way) and with the engine ticking over and the rope tight I take the following steps.
1. I poke my leading foot out of the water and at a 45 degree angle, I also poke the board forward a bit.
2. I squat down from my ass to my ankle almost to a point where I'm sitting on them.
3. Knees have to be inside your arms and your arms at full length.
4. the first 3 pointers has to happen quite quickly because the deal I have with the driver is as soon as he see's my tip of the board out the water then he accelerates away. As this happens I find I need to push ever so slightly and then hey-presto I'm up and wakeboarding. Be careful though, I use to, in desperate attempts to get up try and push against the board hoping that would push me up but it never did/does!
Maybe to a wakeboard purist the above that I just typed is all rubbish and goes against what should be taught but I'm up and I did believe for a while that I never would, so hopefully Newman you can do the same |

Relax, don't push with your legs as dingledangle, suggests...stay low at first, don't try to stand up too soon, oh yeah, relax.... _________________ just broad reachin' thru life... |

| Most people are not aware on HOW relaxed you can be. I personally, to get more speed, dont ACTUALLY stand up until I am side by side with the boat. If you think you are standing up TOO early, you probably are. Or you are starting off with your arms on the inside kof you legs. Don't be tense. Because if you're out on glass, you could be crouched all day. |
