| What is the proper technique for doing Ollies? I have seen on different forums here about pushing your back foot down, but was hoping for some more input. Do you want the line loaded to try and get pop like off the wake? This always seems to pull me forward and I land nose first. Do you push down then jump or do you just push down and stand tall? I only get a few inches when I try to ollie and I see videos of people getting some pretty good air to just be doing ollies. |

You want to push down with your back foot then push up with your front foot. This is what I do and I get some great air on ollies. _________________ 93 four winns

You can ollie by just jumping like you would on the ground, but the board makes a suction with the water and you lose all you height. To really get up there, crank down with your back foot and try to get the tail of the board as deep in the water as possible. This makes a hole in the water, and the sides of it become a ramp, just like a mini wake. Once you start ramping out of the hole, lift both feet to level out the board. Once you get it dialed, you should be able to ollie higher than you could jump on land |

| Pre-pop. The little almost olly you do right before the olly, to help you drive the board down more. |

Pre-pop? I thought you made The Book?
A lot of beginners try to ollie when they're going slow (riding at a "learning speed") which makes it a bit tougher to get the height they want since there's less pressure on the board. But basically, you push the water it pushes back. |
