Your friend must have been flying? Like serious stupidity for an off duty officer to come after him. And why would you pull over for an unmarked car. Technically speaking unless the car has emblems you don't have to pull over.
I've been pulled over twice. Traffic school on the first one and tried to fight the second but lost. If it's his first ticket spend the 30 bucks to do an online traffic school. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

| the cop might have been in his cop car, just off duty, but if his car was unmarked ya, i have talked about that with my parents before, if a cop in an unmarked car tries to pull you over, you dont have to, you can drive to a near shopping center/police station, etc, to pull over, instead of just pulling over on a empy highway or something, its for safety precausions and stuff...just thought i would tell ya all that |

| I've heard some rumor about a number to call if an unmarked car tries to pull you over. They check the plates for you to make sure its really a cop. I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that some girl called it and they found out that the guy trying to pull her over was a convicted rapist. It sounds like an urban legend to me, but I'm not sure. I would never pull over for an unmarked car unless they had cop lights. |

Exactly what Nor*cal said, why did he pull over for an unmarked? word for all you woman out there never pull over for an unmarked car flashing any type of lights. Best thing, pull into a shopping mall parking lot around lots of people before you do pull over...
Does this off duty cop have radar? I would fight the ticket to the bitter end, heck I fight every ticket cuz, well cuz I have the right to do so. You would be surprised what you get out of... let's see if Johnny good cop wants to show up to court on his day off! _________________ PEACE

You guys absolutely kill me!!! Just don't break the law in the first place and you won't have to worry about it!! Everbody is constantly criticizing policemen, and it truly gets on my nerves. They're just doing their jobs!! When you're in trouble, they're gonna protect you... when you're breaking the law, they're gonna serve you!!! Protect and Serve!! Also, everyone on here just automatically assumes things. Policemen won't pull people over while they're off duty unless the person is doing something very wrong. Also, they can't pull them over unless they're in their cruisers... at least in Arkansas anyway. If they have their badge on 'em, they can also arrest you. Another thing, don't go to court and try to get out of a ticket. It will do you no good. All you'll do is waste your time and money. The only time you should go to court and fight, is when you know for certain that the cop has intentionally done something wrong. In that case, he needs to be fired. Wow, it feels good to vent! Anyway, I just don't see why everyone hates, or at least says that they hate the police. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. Yes, you should pull over. If you don't feel safe to pull over right there on the spot, continue on to a high traffic area such as a shopping center parking lot. If you don't pull over, the policeman could call in a chase and you would also get nailed for not pulling over. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. Dave, no, you cant get arrested or "nailed" or anything for not pulling over for a unmarked car, the police even tell you not to pull over for an unmarked car, and if you do, go to a shopping plaza or the nearest police station before ya do, atleast they do that down here in florida, they tell ya that becuase they dont want people pulling over to people saying there cops even though there not, and then getting hurt, for thinking its a cop
west coast boarder- no i didnt do it myself, but i had a friend who did it, if i remember coorectly he hated it, he liked being in school with all his friends better, plus if ya dont go on at the right time, and miss it, you cant make up your work, or get it, so it makes it harder, thats what he said, and what someone else told me atleast |

Dave-- understood about the cop bashing, people do it all the time. the real question is why do cops have that stereo type?
For the record they are never there when you really need them. My step father was the Chief of police in my town for over 30+ years reelected every 2 years by the people. He will be the first to tell you how great a job he did when in fact you could pull up to the local coffee joint anytime during the day and see him sitting there with a cup of Joe and a cig doing PR work...
Never pay a ticket, with out using all your options to fight it, trust me on this one...you may not win all the time but why concede defeat.... _________________ PEACE

Yep, I knew I'd catch hell for it, but that's okay.
Honeymustard - I think that I'd prolly know about most laws and how they enforce them here in Arkansas seeing as my dad is a cop. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. If you do not know how to ignore it, complain to me in a PM and I will show you how. |

No, no, no. I guess I wasn't clear enough. I meant that if you don't pull over period, you're evading police and it's grounds for being arrested, extremely high fines, and possible jail time. But if you pull over in somewhere that there's a lot people such as a shopping center, it's alright. Sorry for the misunderstanding. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. If you do not know how to ignore it, complain to me in a PM and I will show you how. |

| ooo ok, ya, you said that weird then, i thought you meant if you dont pull over right away to a un marked car, instead of going to a shopping center or something you get fined or arrested...im not that blonde, i know you would get arrested for not pulling over at all, i was just saying that if you wait till you get to a "safe" place its ok, and you wont get fined, i thought you were saying that basically, if you dont pull over to a un marked car, your in trouble, and i was saying thats not how it is, but ok, we just had a little misunderstanding...sry bout that |

Depends, was he eating a donut?
But seriously, as long as you're nice and you have a decent excuse- even if its a lie- you have a fairly decent chance of getting out of a ticket. I know a guy that was goin 42 over and drunk and didnt get a ticket and I've gotten out of a 17 mph over cuz the cop liked the music I was listening to. |
