Alrighty now...I just got back from Table Rock Lake in Branson, Mo and well I have always wanted to go wakeboarding. So me and my parents and little sister were riding around the lake and were tubing when my mom wants to go to the marina. Well I noticed that you could rent wakeboards there and so I asked my parents and they said it was prolly alright. So we went out the with the board and I got up farily fast and i manuvered pretty good and went over the wakes(that was my first time on a wakeboard ever and no one told me how to do anything). So I'm back home now in St. Louis, Mo and we have the Mississippi and Missouri river very close and I wanted to get a board for the river or a lake thats close.

Ok so thats my story and now I'm hooked on wakeboarding...But the thing is I need to get a board. The one girl at the wakeboard shop Showed me a LF Stance board and she said that would be a good board for me but I want to ask you guys. I'm looking for a board that I will be able to keep my whole time wakeboarding pretty much from beginner to expert...unless I ever try going pro(i dont really want to buy another board as i get better). I'm 5'9", 165lbs and my shoe size is 12.

So what board do you guys think I should get?

P.S. My parents are willing to spend somewhere areound $275 all together.

Hey, I'm new to wakeboarding myself (just over a month) so I'm definitely no expert.

I can tell you though that I'm already on my second board.

My first board, which I still have, is a Hydroslide Black Widow. This is a true entry level board which retails for $150.00. The board itself isn't all that bad, but it comes with some really crappy bindings that just velcro over your foot. They really offer no support. It was a good board to learn how to get up on, but certainly not for long term use. My plans for that board are to put a decent set of bindings on it and use it as my "buddy board" for friends I bring on the boat.

My new board is the '06 CWB Flame 141 with the brand new Torq Hinge Tech bindings. WOW! What a difference. I've only ridden it once so far but, MAN, what a difference. This board cuts so hard and edges sooo fast compared to the Hydroslide and the bindings are just outstanding. This board was $420.00.

I'm not sure what kind of board you're going to get for $275.00 but if you really want a board and bindings that you won't outgrow, you should probably plan on spending at LEAST $400.00 or more, unless maybe you buy used.

This is not to say that there aren't boards to be had in the $275.00 range, but it sounds like you really want a top quality ride.

Hope some of this helps. Cool

BTW, that LF Stance board retails for $249.00 but I don't think that includes bindings...something to think about.

Something like THIS might fit your needs.

Finally someone replied lol.

Well I think my parents will prolly go higher than $275 but I was just trying to see if there was a good deal for that cheap. That prodigy look like a great deal but I'm not sure how long it will last me. So I will prolly look at the flame and bindings because that sounds like a great deal that will last me a long time.

I am alos on my second board and I tried to get an average board and bindings and they did not end up being the best. My first board is for my friends to use also and I just recent bought a pair of Torq Hinge Tech bindings for my board and boy do they make a HUGE difference. They are the best bindings!!! I highly recomend them.

According to the info, the Prodigy is an intermediate/advanced board. Unless you yourself are a true "prodigy", it is very unlikely that your skill level would surpass that board anytime too soon.

But hey, whatever the parents are willing to spring for I guess, right? LOL. Laughing

the cheepest board i have ever seen is a dumb little cheepy you find at k-mart for 150 dollars. anything for 275 probably wont last as long as you want it to. you would have to spend like the other guy said around about 400 to 500 dollars. and hes right i got a parks 136 and parks bindings that was a previous year modle for about 500 and that was pretty close to half price i think and i had the same problem not enough money but my dad uses it too so try to get your dad hooked too and then maybe you will be able to get a more expensive board then you would if only you liked it.
