|
|
Hi, new to wakeboarding, new to thesite. My roommate just got a boat, almost 19' Sunbird with a Wakeboard tower, he's all psyched about that. It came with a wakeboard, a 2004 CWB Nirvana with 2004 CWB Comp bindings; until I fell and ripped the rubber right out of the binding clamp. I am 6'1", 185 lbs, my roommate is about 5'10", 138 lbs, and my g/f is 5'4", 125 lbs...so the same board for the 3 of us wasn't going to last too long anyways.
We're looking at getting a board for my g/f, but wanted to make sure she liked it before she went and got a board, and she seems to really be enjoying it, so it looks like she might get a board. I'm sure she can do better with a board for her size with the bindings set up for her stance.
We checked out Academy Sports, and they have aHydroslide "Chics Rule" Wakeboard for $128 that we were thinking of getting. Yeah, corny message, but, whatever.
This site here says:
http://www.boatersworld.com/product/478321615.htm
"Hydroslide Jr. Wakeboards are the perfect solution to get anyone under 125lbs into the sport of wakeboarding. Chaser lace up binding fits up to kids size 7. Oval design is very forgiving and easy to turn. Wide waist provide a very stable platform. Two graphic options available. 122 CM long, 39 cm wide. Made in USA."
Another site says:
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=73247&hvarTarget=search&hvarAID=&cmCat=3337021
"A lightweight oval wakeboard designed for women. RIM core has a PBT top with sublimated graphics, molded quad channel bottom with dual fin set-up, and Chaser Jr. bindings."
So is it for kids or for women? I don't know what a "kids size 7" is, but she's a women's size 8.
I tried searching the forum for the board but couldn't find it. I saw a lot of praise for LF Diva & Angel among others...but, was wondering about this board for a beginner since it's a good price.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Dave |

| I second what Criswb says. Dont go for just any cheap board. An older good quality board will be better off in the long run. Good brands to look at are Obrien, Gator, CWB, Liquid Force, and Hyperlite. These are brands that are well known in the industry and will treat you well. Good luck finding her a board. |

The LF Diva w/Element binding package is what I ride. I started just over a month ago and have found it a great board for me. I am about the same size as your gf. Im 5'4" 130.
I got it from another shop but it was the same price. But they have been great at Miami- I just ordered a vest and it didnt fit when it came and they are exchanging it no questions asked. _________________ "It must be the moonlight or the bottle of goldslagger that brings out the romance in a girl" - Out Cold |

Hey my wife started riding on a Hyperlite Essence 131 2004 and Vario bindings. The best deals are going to be at the end of the season and some shops will let you demo depending on what shops you have access to. _________________ If anyone needs me... I'll be on the lake..... |
