Ok, took my new board out for the first time yesterday and I was able to get up no problem, the problem is that i dont stay up very long, maybe for about 30 seconds or so. After about 30 seconds or so, I would lose control of the board and then wipe out. It felt like my balance isnt correct yet. I know I'll get the feel for it. It just felt a little unusual to be pulled by a boat while standing on a board in the water. Just looking for some pointers to help me out. Thanks

Try and keep the rope close to your front hip. It will help you stay straight and more stable. It wont feel like you want to turn sideways.

If its a new board it should have came with fins. If you have fins put them on and leave them on untill you get to know the board and untill you're able to control the board better. Also, keep some weight on that back foot and dont lean forward. Also do what GOnger said, "Try and keep the rope close to your front hip. It will help you stay straight and more stable. It wont feel like you want to turn sideways." _________________ Blood is thicker than water. Family comes first! |

thanks for the tips. I kept holding the rope out in front me instead of near my front hip. I did try to remember to keep my weight on my back foot. I found out real fast what happens if you dont..face plant!

ya, definitely keep the rope on your front hip, also make sure to bend your legs a little, especially your back leg, this will help to keep your weight on your back leg and to balance and absorb waves
