Well i used to ride 70-75 at 22 like most do but then i rode my friends rope which was around 80ft behind a crappy boat so i was just haulin back and forth at like 24 or so, not sure. But it was fun so then i started riding 80 and everything alot bigger and more fun. Well i now have that itch to go bigger and bigger so i went to Bliss and grabbed a couple 5 foot extensions and now im riding a 90 foot rope (93 total with handle line included) at 26-27mph (boat doesnt have perf pass, its a sea-ray so im not exactly sure) and its absolutely nuts. Its really weird trying to get used to riding that fast cuz eveything can change soo fast. Just wonderin if anybody else has done this? _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

haha ya i ride 88 (with handle) behind my sea-ray and have to raley cut almost everything but its still fun cuz i can boot into the flats... but behind a wakeboard boat with a good wake, im always the 93 feet out at 26 i guess, i really wanna do it with perfect pass so i'll know wut speeds the best
everybody has that rider they wanna be like and keith lymans pretty much my idol. everything that guy does is just soo sick. I mean, ya i could go and huck me some 7's or something but i rather throw a double grabbed 5 into the flats, personally making a double grabbed five look sick feels more rewarding than landing a 7 anyday _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

shortchange lyman? never in my life, i know he can do 7's, switch 7's, 9's, no doubt he throws down some tech stuff but when i see anything nice floated and stylish, i think of it as being alot sicker... its just he's the one i got inspiration out of for going as big as i can... im still gonna try and get my 7's down pat but im really gonna spend time on grabbin my basics and pokin it... not only basics, just everything i do _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

well look how many people are interested in the thread right now...haha ya i went to the 1st bliss tourny but me and daniel powers tied 3rd* for advanced...but the second one, i fractured my foot like 30 minutes before the tournament cuz i wanted to go ride my friends nautique cuz i never had... damn triple ups...
*me and daniel had the best runs but they tied us for 3rd, think they did the standings backwards cuz we were both like... huh? so now its a joke between us... "yo sick run u stuck everything, i bet you'll win with 3rd!!!" its all good _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

Thats tight that you ride over 90 feet back. I think I am going to try to move back to 80 or 85 and up to 23-25 MPH because it is kinda hard for me to throw down semi big tricks like 360's, backrolls, and tantrums riding at only 65 feet at 20 MPH. It is only my sencond year but I am a natural at most board sports so I am going to try that and hopefully start to progress faster. I also need to start going with people who are better then me. _________________ Check out my wakeboarding video on my myspace!!! go to

ya it sux cuz my friend lewis and me are the best around where we live, like i dont know if anybody else in the whole city of riverview wakeboards... j/k but seriously, we are the only ones two people anywhere near here that take it seriously. We taught ourselves everything we know but i think that if im trying to do things my own way, it will be easier than trying to copy somebody else and do what everybody else is doin... like watchin vids on a 7, ima go do a bunch of 5's and think of how it would be best for me to throw it blind or what not
Northwest, haha thats funny, the sad part is that its tru, riding that far back and cuttin hard takes a shitton more of energy for most things, at least thats how it is for me _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

| alafiaboarder, ha it's funny you put it that way, because my friend david and i are in the same boat, we taught ourselves everything (which took forever) but it gave as the right mechanics and some unique style. nobody within a radius of 30 miles can do more than a 360 or a backroll. its kinda fun though because people actually look up to us haha (i hope that doesn't come off as arrogance) |

no stuff man, same here, people think we're gods and we're like, ya we're ok... we dont think we're that good but w/e works...haha, ya its crazy cuz people will come on the boat expectin to board and see people go back in forth like they have before but then we go out throwin 5's, crow mobes, elephants and stuff and they're like, wtf is all this?!?! Its the best when we boot some double ups tho _________________ Broke, Unsponsored, Carless, Broken donor cycle, 18 credit hours... and i drive to class wheeliein my sisters 49cc scooter... yea im bawlin |

i ride 75 ebhind my enzo at 25.5/ 26, but it has a really wide wake. The length seems to be fine, also the wake behind my boat is a lot better farther back _________________ 06' watson 138

| For me it depends on the boat. I've ridden at 80' behind a MB B-52 (23') and had no problems landing in the flats. I usually ride at a shorter rope. |

Just recently I started riding eighty behind v drive boats. I love it, I go about 26 and it feels pretty good. Nowwhen I ride at 75 i feel like i'm getting pulled back twards the wake before I set my edge, with and 80' line i fell like i can cut forever, it's awesome. _________________ Charge It

| Craig-R, our club keeps a boat in a slip at our nearby lake. Weather permitting, there are people out on the boat every day. |

| jpminter, yeah but who owns the boat? and the slip? the school isn't willing to support owning a boat due to insurance crap so it would have to come souling from student donations pretty much |

| Each club member pays about $240 for a year's worth of dues. Our recreation department officially owns the boat (I think). Our gas is covered. We have a running tab for gas at the marina where our slip is. We have to fill out a lot of paperwork (liability issues) before we can even get on the boat. Even guests have to fill that stuff out. Ours is actually called the "Water Ski Club". Your school might think that that sounds a little bit safer or something. If you're really interested, send me a PM and I can put you in touch with the club's president and you can ask him more specific questions. |
