yeah.. check out those links and just stick with it man...
sometimes i feel like the hardest thing in my limited wakeboarding experience(just started riding) was getting up... i can't go w2w yet...getting close; but that fact doesn't frustrate me as much as trying to get up for the first time did..
like i said before...just stick with it and have fun _________________ If anyone needs me... I'll be on the lake..... |

i basically learned on my own, i was up at mt cottage and only got up about 2 times out of a bunch of tries, then when i got home i watched that CWB video..and i'll tell you it clarifies things..
also i was watching higher education and their getting up spot is not too bad either _________________ Alright. It's Saturday night. I have no date, a two liter bottle of Shasta and my all rush mix tape. Let’s rock! |

I had the HARDEST time getting up. I finally tried behind a Seado and got up the first time! Then, we realized that we were going way too slow in the boat.
You basically have to let the boat do all the work. It should pop you out- as long as you remember to put your butt to your heels and relax your arms (maybe try putting your lead hand between your knees so you naturally try to twist into your normal position). Don't try to push with your feet, that is just resisting the boat and is going to wear you out, quick! Stay "seated" until you are almost positve the board will plane, or else you are going to stand in water and just be taken down from there.
Also- I found that the board I was using wasn't right for me. It was taking a HUGE amount of effort to get up! So, I took the board back, got a smaller one and I was up and out the very next day!
I am just as new to wakeboarding as you are so don't get discouraged. I just follow these simple tips and I am out and up every time! Have you thought of letting someone else pull you? My boyfriend used to pull me and I struggled getting up with him. Now if someone else pulls me, and I have no problem. It could be the driver just as much as you! |

| to me it was natural but to some people that i try to teach it seems to be leaning back and having patients like they try to get up too early |

when i was first starting to get up i had the driver (my dad) go pretty slow, cause it always felt like my arms were getting ripped off... now he nails it and i get right up... its all about form, i dunno what it was, my board not close enough to my ass and knees not close enough to my chest... or maybe i was just trying to straighten out too fast... either way, just keep it up and you'll get it soon. _________________ Alright.
