|
|
I know everyone is probly sick of stereo questions --but here is another.
Does any non-audiophile have a solid system that sounds good and loud?
I am looking to upgrade my system with something better but not the best or most$. If you have one that works what exactly is it? I mean exact amp and speaker and sub's? |

i have my Mob V's system sounding great. I started out with two 6 1/2 on the tower and the everything else stock well this spring i took the old sony amp out for the tower speakers and added 2 Crunch amps. I know everyone is gonig to say they suck but you can ask anyone that has heard my system and it sounds great. One of the amps 175x4 for the Solo baric L5 12" and the other is a 125x4, this one runs the 4 Rockford Fosgate hpc-???? 6 1/2's and 4 RF 6" in the boat. I got all of it from thezeb.com. I bought 2 of the Solo baric L5's thinking i would need 2 but i put the one in and i dont think I need the other one. In total i think i spent $800 on stero stuff and then another 100 on materials to build the sub box and two tower boxes. Each tower box hold two 6 1/2's. About the loud thing, we can hear our boat before we can see it, i think everyone hates us on the lake. Personlly i dont see how people can spend $300- $400 on one amp and 2-3 grand on the whole stero. Hope this helps. _________________ www.NORTHSHOREBOARDSHOP.com

Agreed - We spent $180 on a closeout Sony MP450X - MP3 player, and another $80 on 4 pioneer speakers at best buy. then we added a Rockford 150 Watt amp, and 2 rockford 8" subs in a custom built sub box, covered in fiberglass. We did all the install ourselves and the system sounds great. It is not the loudest thing on the lake, but when you are in the boat, or near it, it sounds great and really can make the water ripple when the sub woofer is going. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

| I just redid the stereo in my boat too. I got two rockford fosgate amps (550X amd 350S), and replaced the clarion marine speakers with 4 Polk EX 365 6 1/2" speakers for in the boat. The boat already had a JL Audio 12W3, so I left it in there. After that, I built two stainless steel cannisters to put two more EX365s in for the tower. The head unit is the stock Clarion marine unit. So far, nobody has complained about the stereo. The amps came from etronics, on which I got a good deal. I did end up spending some money and cables and wires, but it was worth it to do it right the first time. It amazes me how much 4 and 8 gauge power wire costs!!! |

I have two Alpine amps, 6 - 6.5" Alpine marine speakers, 1 pr of Boss B530 tower speakers, 1 - 10" Alpine S10 sub and an Alpine CD player. Connected as follows...
5 channel Alpine MRV-F450 amp running the 4 speakers in main part of the boat and the Alpine S10 sub.
2 channel Alpine MRV-T420 amp running the Boss tower speakers, can be turned on and off via Acc switch on the dash.
Alpine CD player CDA-7993 which runs the 2 bow speakers.
As for it being loud, I think anyone who has been in my boat would agree it is loud. I love my B530's, the alpine marine speakers I am alittle disappointed in. People around here seem to think marine speakers are not needed, I tend to agree with them!

I have my 4 stock infinity 6.5's in the boat, an 10" Infinity Basslink, two Kicker K60 tower speakers and a US Acoustic 4X85 RMS amp. I push the two tower speakers and two of the interior speakers with the Acoustic, the other set of interiors with the cd player, and the basslink self amplified (200W). Total cost was around $500, and I think it sounds great. You can't hear it behind the boat wakeboarding though. Maybe if I added another set of tower speakers and a new amp, but that will have to wait until next winter |

| In my Wakesetter, I have 2 premier 6" speakers in the dash, 2 premier 6X9's under the rear seat. Those are powered by my head unit which is a premier DEH-P 6300. I have B-530's on the tower powered by a Phoenix gold tantrum 500.2, and I have 2 JL 12W3's under the observers seat powered by a JBL BP1200.1. Sounds good, not the best, but works for me...... |
