do you need fins at all. will it be easier to do surface tricks w/out them?

I think it depends on the board. I have an old HL fluid that I have ridden without fins and it is really squirrly. I couldn't perform as well on the wake with no fins.

Yes it will be easier to do surface tricks. Look into the HL roam.

i think riding finless help you learn to edge correctly... and surface tricks are easier without them.

i just started boarding this year and took my fins off a few weeks ago... it was real loose feeling at first... but i feel like i have better board control since losing them...

as a note... what works for some may not always work for others... just be comfortable and have fun riding

i ride finless on the Wakeboard (no molded fins either) and finless on the wooden wakeskate (no kind of molding at all on the bottom) and it has helped me with my edging tremendously! now i prefer it and only ride that way.

I like fins. they help everything. when I try to take them off, I little part of my heart dies.
