Hyperlite Cruiser (139?) with HL Split bindings.
I'm guessing it's too big for me probably. If I get more serious, I'll get a smaller one. I'm just a beginner that doesn't get out on the lake much. _________________ My other water preference is "frozen". |

Lady Ortunas, I was looking at your nice riding pics here in the forum. The board you're riding in those looks appropriately sized for you. I think while learning, that may not be a bad size to stick with.
Coming from snowboarding, a smaller board is nice making for fasting spins and rotations, but crossing over, with the wakeboard I've tried a few different sizes - a smaller WB is going to be "squirrely" where as a larger (or at least the one you're on now) will have more surface area for planing across the water making your landings easier as your practice & work on your jumps. |

How do you like the PS3? I rode it a few times and wasn't too impressed, but I'm generally not a fan of the 3-stage. I'm just curious for your opinion. |

Had this for a while, and rode the blur for a while...now I'm out for a bit due to injury but I plan on trying a few more boards still before I head back to school! |

sh0rtyme -
Have not ridden too many boards to make good comments.
DIVA is a heavier board. I ride finless and it simulates a snowboard feel and which I LOVE. I edge deeper into the water and need to exert more energy for wake jumps.
My PS3 is much lighter, travels higher on water. When finless, tracks water extremely well. My one handed loose rope turns improved tremendously. Fin or finless feels very little different. My pops are much higher with lesser effort. One major set back, on my PS3, I havent once succeeded completely cleared my w2w, I think its because my pop is much higher, and I'm not carrying enough speed as well. My coach said my style of wakejump has changed and which I'm correcting and working on my progressive edge once again. I'm still getting used to this new board and perhaps I'm too of a newbie for a PS3?
Also PS3 is pretty pricey. |

I have a 03 Hyperlite Premier with LF Watson bindings. Just got the bindings this season and I love them! You don't even have to use water to get in them and they are so comfy! I rode the 06 Premier a few weekends ago, loved that board too, faster than the old Premier shape with a little more pop too. Been wanting to demo the new Watson board too. Anyone rode that? Probably going to get a new board next season.
sh0rtyme, How do you like those Shane's? I had mixed feelings about the closed toed bindings, so I went with the Watsons. |

Grace B., I loved them when I rode them. The water here in Oregon is COLD when you are starting out in February and that was the biggest reason that I liked them. The edging of the closed toe binding seemed a little more aggressive just because you could give it that one extra push, but I still don't like that my feet don't feel completely secure in the boot. Maybe there is security in seeing your toes and knowing where your foot it in the boot? Also, they don't get completely dried out after being in the water and a fun slimy residue is left behind. Yum. Overall, it's a comfortable boot and a great idea and I guess some people are willing to spend the cash, but it's not really any better of a boot than something like the Transits or Watsons beyond a little extra performance and comfort. The Watsons, however I think are a great boot...look great and that extra wrap around the ankle is super comfortable and gives a ton of extra support. Plus you can see your toes! |

sh0rtyme Correction, I shouldnt blame on my board ps3 for my change of riding style result in poor performance. Today my coach found out one of my problems, & he had widen my stance a bit. I'm more balance and dig into my heels w/ lesser effort. I used to ride at a wider stance before I switched boards.[/b] |

Help! I'm new here. I'm 35 years old and attempted wakeboarding for the first time this past weekend. I'm now hooked!! I still can't believe I actually got up!! I'm thinking about getting a board of my own since I'm having problems using my friend's board. I'm only 5 foot tall and weigh 115. He's 6 ft 4 with a size 13 shoe!! I just need some advice on boards and bindings. I've been looking at the LF Diva(not sure if I want the 132 or 134) with the element bindings. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Tracie

Thanks. I thought the 132 board I rented seemed a little big/awkward. The length seemed slightly long but it was stable in the water. It was a hyperlite byerly with guys bindings. Maybe I'll keep renting a few different boards before I buy one. This is more complex than I thought
