|
Back on July 4th, we decided to brave the boat traffic and see if our riding area was busy with other people. Of course it was, but we found a stretch that wasn't badly affected by the wind due to some nice tall trees on the shoreline so we only had to deal with other boats. Well there was this windsurfer out that day. I had never seen one on our lake before. She was just going back and forth across a bottleneck where several boats were always trying to get through. So one person was done riding and somebody else was getting ready to go. Meanwhile, I'm trying to assist; getting boards out, putting them away, pick crap up, etc. I look up and the windsurfer is about 25 feet away heading straight for us. So I started to pull in the rope but couldn't get it in in time. So she runs over the rope, the rope gets caught on some fins underneath and she wipes out literally 5 feet from our boat. Everybody in the boat either had a LOL face ( ) or a WTF face ( ). She wasn't wearing a life jacket. She was wearing only a full length wetsuit and a huge hat. So she's struggling to get her windsurfer back together and then she asks us "Can I give you my trash. It won't stay on my windsurfer. I don't want to pollute the lake." So we agree and she tosses an empty water bottle into the boat.
Just thought I would share. We laughed pretty hard about it later. |

at least she was environmentally conscious... i've seen beer cans and chip bags on the lake... irresponsible fishermen i presume...
anyways, good story... you should have gotten a picture.... was it a "big floppy hat" _________________ If anyone needs me... I'll be on the lake..... |
