| you had it, you just gotta keep your board edged on the landing, when you landed your board started tracking straight, but your body was still moving sideways. |

| I watched it slow and I am flipping off axis, what can I do to prevent that. More weight on my front foot? |

Okay, I think I got it. See how when you first hit the wake, your board is still pretty open to the boat? What it looks like is happening is that the wake is straightening your board out (making it parallel to the wake) after your board hits the wake. That's why your board spins a little in the wrong direction on the landing.
What you want to do is turn your back to the wake earlier in the approach. Think of having your back parallel to the wake and your eyes looking at the shore right at the bottom of the wake.
You could also wait longer to start the flip. It is the hardest thing to get yourself to do, but think of doing a flip on a trampoline. Wait for the pop, try to go straight up (don't think of getting across the wakes, that will happen on its own), then once you're in the air, tuck your knees and look back.
Those little tweaks ought to get you riding away from that tantrum next time out, you're real close. Good luck! |

| sprained my foot pretty bad, I will be out for at least a month. I ride with a center fin, has anybody ever heard that a center fin increases injury? It hooked up pretty hard on the landing |

what it looks to me what you're doing is you are starting the flip too early. I had that same problem and when I didn't try to speed through it and just kinda used the trip to throw it I had so much more possitive results. Sorry about your ankle bro, and that it's keeping you from riding. I know that feeling and it sux.
P.S. We have the same bindings.

my wakeboard instructor tantrums like this. I personally can NOT do one, but you are supposed to keep your elbow at your side, and your arm is almost straight. ??? anyone, is this right? |

| start a little wider but turn slower and more progressive you need your speed or momentum but to be in control of it. Watch the wake as long as possible and really push your chest upwards as you leave the wake. Yes your landing very back foot heavy. Think about taking off on your front lead toe. You are there already im surprised that fall hurt your ankles. anyway good luck you should have it in one two more tries. |

I did close to the same thing yesterday that resulted in a pretty sore knee. (back leg)
I normally land edging away from the wake, but on the one that tweaked my knee, I landed like you did in that video, with the board angled back towards the wake.
What I think messed me up, which I also saw on your video, was handle placement. I usually have the hanlde down by my hips, but on the one that injured me, I lifted it up above my head like you did.... upper arm extended straight out, lower arm at 90 degrees above my head. On my clip, I can see my arm go up, the rope tighten, and my body starts to spin.
It looks like a late start to a whirly. |

Weight dist and handle placement are really key on tantrums (I've found). If you square up correctly and get decent pop (which for the most part you did) then these 2 things are usually what go wrong. As Kuehn said above, when you are about to take off really focus on a 50 50 weight dist, maybe even more on your front foot than that. Also, to help keep line tension and your weight even enough try pushing the handle down right after you square up/just before you take off. Extend both of your arms all the way down and out kinda like you are doing wide tricep push downs at the gym (if you do those). This will keep line tension with your front hand, provide balance with your back hand, and hopefully begin pushing your chest up and head back to start the rotation. _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |
