Hey guys

We just bought a new boat like, yesterday, and I really want to get into wakeboarding. Obviously, I have absolutely no experience wakeboarding yet, although I have waterskied a few times before.

Since I'm a poor bastard, I'm looking around online for the right (ie. good price Very Happy) wakeboard for me. I'm getting more familiar with the terms, but I still think it would be best for me to just ask people who actually know something about wakeboards.

I'm 19, female, 5'9", around 130 lbs, and my shoe size is 9.5 mens (shut up, I know, they don't make women's running shoes in my size). Oh yeah, and as I said above, total beginner.

Also, my boat is a 190 HP, 18' Four Winns. Is that going to be alright?

Thanks guys Wink.

PS. I'm going to sound like a jackass, but is the general way for the boat driver to get the wakeboarder up on the wakeboard similar to waterskiing? Like, how fast should the boat be going once I'm up, and should we start out by punching it or easing into it a little?

Black-Rose-Immortal,
First off, what kind of price range are you looking for? And also, if you want to wait, the 06 boards go on closeout in like 3 months, and you can pick up a deal.

As far as getting up, It's not a flat out flooring of the pedal, more of ease into it, and you get up with your board perpendicular to the boat, laying on your back.

Your boat will be fine.

Sweet.

I'm kind of cheap, so like...up to $350 for everything. I needs that money for University Sad.

Okay wait, so I have the board sideways at first? Like, so that the board is parallel to my shoulders? When do I flip it so I have one foot forward?

I bought a new '05 Hyperlite State board-bindings combo for under $300 on eBay a few months ago, so that's a great place to start looking. Check out the board finder at www.boardstop.com to get an idea about the size board you should get.

when the boat starts moving and ur butt is out of the water then u should start to turn ur board. And for the price of the board go for and 05 model because they are even gunna be cheaper but they are still modern. Try www.the-house.com for some boards.
