Not able to listen to the radio with this thin wire antenna. So what antenna works in a boat?

I don't know all that much about stereos but what worked for me is wiring my attenna to my windshield. I just attached the wire to a screw that secures the windshield. Not too sure if this is how you are suppose to do it but it has worked for me. Doug hanson is the guy to ask if he is back on here...I wouldn't mind knowing the proper way to do it...although I doubt I will change mine.

Attaching the center pin of your antenna coax cable to a windshield bolt is a great way to get good reception without having a visible antenna. All you need to do is strip back the insulation and put a ring terminal on the center lead of the cable and put it under one of the nuts under the dash.

I agree... I did that when my built-in antenna broke and it works better than the little flexible thing they give you from the factory.
