Alright...I am 17, 6'1" 145-150lb. I know...I'm skinny. More of a soccer player at heart than a body builder...don't keep much weight on with all that running . Anyway, I can get up no problem, do small jumps, and go wake 2 wake. I am also an intermediate kiteboarder and have no real wakeboard. The styles are pretty similar, so I am currently wakeboarding with my kiteboard. As I've progressed, I've stopped denying my need for a real wakeboard, and finally decided to put an investment into one. My question is, at my height and weight, (taking a bit of consideration into my only being 17, which means I'm going to put on a few more pounds), what is the right size board for me? In my opinion, with my very limited reading I've lowered it to high 130's, maybe 140. But I'd prefer to know what everyone else thinks. I am also interested in what board you think I should get. I have decided on a 2006 Hyperlite, but do not know which type. With my kiteboard, I am used to edging hard, and very quickly. I have nothing to compare it to, but in my opinion, compared to a wakeboard it is a pretty fast board. Anyway, anyone have any suggestions on what model Hyperlite I should get? I am really interested in getting big air, because especially with the sandal style bindings on a kiteboard, I'm not getting that now. I don't want to sacrifice much speed or edging ability/maneuverability to get the air however. Can anyone suggest a board, and size? I'll also take any advice you have on bindings. I apologize for being so long-winded. |

I would get the hyperlite Byerly 137... it is for 140 and up and since ur growing it will b good.. im 6'0 140 and i have the 132 and its awsome.. and its a super fast board.. also try it with the hyperlite state bindings they r pretty sweet... Heres a good website for the board it tells you everything you would want to know about it....

| I appreciate the advice! I was particularly interested in the Byerly, State, and the Murray. But I don't really know what I want, which is why I'm asking, so I'm open to all suggestions...Thanks for replying so quickly, and everyone keep them coming! |
