| Well about a month ago my dad bought a brand new 2006 ssi 204 chapperal i begged for a wakeboat but he refused for some reason.. We go out to the lake and i basically complain.. he doesnt drive straight he messes with the trim and tires to piss me off... he wont fill the tank up or buy fat sacs so i have no weight.. I attempt to load the line but its not working well when your dad decides to go 30 or turn and its just annoying i dont know what to do sometimes i can get good air but if i fall hes a dick and makes me get on the boat so im afraid to try new stuff knowing that i will fall many times well my dad is getting a video camera for fathers day ill make someone tape me and yall can tell me what i do wrong i dont know its probably a combination of things... last year i rode a tige or another boat every weekend so i know what a good driver is and what isnt and thats the annoying part.. so post any advice plans to kill my dad anythign will be great haha peace. |

dude, you just need to hookup with some folks and ride their boat when you want to wakeboard. heel, being around other folks may 1. increase your confidence to do the tricks 2. not have you worry about your dad making you get on the boat when you fall (mental block to test your limits) 3. make your dad sad that you would rather ride with someone else and not on his new boat, so he may shape up and drive right so he will get to see you ride your wakeboard.
thats my 2 pennies.
fill in your location and go to "Find a Pull" section and do what it says - find a pull. |

Dude he's probably no doing it intentionally. My dad doesn't want to get fat sacs in the boat because it will be hard on gas. You probably won't notice a whole lot when he adjusts the trim so it's probably caused by rollers. One other thing is that i/o's can't keep a consistant speed. I thought my dad was screwing with the boat while I was riding but it's really just the boat so maybe go for some cruise control. I'm also sure if you asked him to drive straight without getting pissed off he might do that... _________________

Well.... it's called perfect pass (or at least I think that's what QNev was referring to). And dude, I know exactly how you feel!! I have the same problem sometimes.
Here's what I did: Go out with other people as much as possible. That will make him appreciate when you go out on the boat with him and not be such a douche. And try to get him interested in our sport. Try showing him some dvds or something if you get a chance(this works well). Next time you're out on the boat, you might mention wanting to try a backroll or something and with him having seen some inverts in a video, it might get him pumped to try and help you out. You could also show him some "sweet pic" in a magazine that just happens to be right next to a "how to drive" article. He might get interested and sit and read for a bit. |

All you need is a brother to drive the boat for you instead, and a friend to spot. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)
