Alternator Amps?

How can I figure out what amp alternator my Sanger DLX has? I need to order a battery isolator but I dont have any paperwork for my boat. Does it say somewhere on the alternator itself and I am just missing it?

I guess i should add....its an 03 Sanger with the Mercruisier 350 - 315hp rated

Most likely a 65 amp. You do not need to match them. As long as the isolator is rated higher tham the alternator, you will be fine. I run a 95 amp isolator with my stock 65.

I'm with JoeDirt, my guess is 65 amp as well, you can sometimes find it stamped on the alt too. FYI, your alt will probably produce 70-75 amps under full load.

I should have added running the next size isolator will give you the chance to upgrade the alt. in the future if needed.
