i think its time for a helmet!!

so i had an interesting weekend! (managed to hack a chunk out of the back of my head) - so sunday was cloudy and it was the world cup so no one was in the ski area in poole harbour (south England) also it was raining a tiny bit so it was butter flat. me and a couple of friends decided to go out wakeboarding. i went last in the first round coz i didnt want to get too cold but we were all gonna go again anyway. did a few big jumps which i landed. then an even bigger jump which i didnt land so well and i bumped my head. i thought it was ok and was going to keep going but the others wouldnt let me so i got out and touched the back of my head and my had was covered in blood and it was all running down my wetsuit. they called an ambulance, i thought they were over reacting but by the time we got back to the boat yard there was blood everywhere and they told me after that there were big chunks of flesh in my hair. i wasnt really fussed tho, just a bit annoyed that id managed to ding my wakeboard (on my head) . the others were properly freaking out tho was quite funny. anyway the ambulance came put a big bandage round my head and took me to hospital where a got 6 stitches. i was pretty much laughing the whole time. was funny when they were stitching me up coz my boyfriend went white and dizzy and felt sick so had to sit in the corner!!
any of u ladies done the same thing?

I had a similer accident on Tuesday, not quite as back though. I was just doing some w2w jumps and the back of my board hit the right side of my head. I went to the hospital to get 3 staples. I was laughing the whole time too, mainly because everyone was so freaked out besides me, and I was the one that was hurt.

didn't get cut, but i have definitely been hit in the head with my board. i was even wearing a helmet, but it was low enough it didnt matter. i think a helmet is never a bad idea though.
