I felt this was a bit of newb question so...
I know the difference between both of the rockers, 3 stage has 3 different stages, continuous just 1 flow yada yada. But what is the difference? Like how does it affect the riding between both of the rockers? _________________ Commit To It |

| With a 3-stage you always want to land on the downslope of the opposite wake, unless you enjoyhard landings. |

It is somewhat hard to explain, but I will give it my best shot. Instead of having a flowing continuous curve like a continuous board, it has basically three segments with curved edges to create a better transition inbetween each section. Having a more flat center section and a bigger rocker /steepness of the other two sections. This creates the more pop thought, since it allows you to angle that much higher coming off the wake. However, when you land, since it is not as continuous, you could land on the flat spot that is usually found in the center, or landing on one of the flatter parts of the board, thus the idea of a hard landing. However, most three stages have multiple concaves in the hull of the board. This helps make the landing softer since one concave breaks the water before the rest of the board contacts the water, making way for the landing.
Please, correct me if I am wrong, but that is my understanding of 3-stage vs. continuous. |

| ok, i have a question, ive been riding continuous for a while. im getting a new board soon i think and i really am wondering, i understand 3 stage gives you more pop, but is it that noticable? i understand the difference, but if i did switch to 3 stage would i be able to tell it wasnt continuous? im just looking for a first hand account. im kinda stuck in a rut with my riding, im not quite at a 360 but i can do 180s and grabs consistent, will a three stage give me that extra split second of hang time? everytime i ask this question i get a technical answer, im wondering about a personal answer, can you really tell a difference? |

| i've used both a lot. the difference is small, but yes you will notice a difference, especially when you start getting more air. i prefer 3-stage myself. don't expect to automatically be able to do a 360 just because you now have a 3-stage if you couldn't do them before. |
