it isn't too hard. a good board is whatever for beginner. it doesn't really matter but I wouldn't go for a PRO board series. my first was a Hyperlite Evolve series and i still ride it every so often. it's a good board. it was about $300 at Bass Pro ( i know, i know..) and I learned my first 360, backroll, frontroll, tantrum, grabs, and other stuff on it. they're great. But I dont know if it is made anymore. a 2006 State Bio2 130 is good for a 130 pound rider, and the bindings I would go with whatever fits good in the shop. good luck.

it's not as hard as it seems, but try and borrow one from somebody to make sure you like it before you buy a board
