Hey, I just bought a 134 substance (its coming in the mail) and I am hoping to improve a lot on it this summer. I originally rode an older model LF probably 00 or 01. I think the substance will have a lot of potential for me to improve on. If anybody knows anything about the board please reply. I have heard this board has amazing pop. I am hoping it will be a lot looser that my beginner board also. Any info would be appreciated pros and or cons.

lol a lil late to be asking opinions now eh? Ive been researching this board a lot lately, but i think im going to go w/ a PS3 when i do get a new board. People say that the PS3 rides like the substance, but has more pop. From what i read from other people the substance has very good pop though, and if its not loose enough you can take out the center fin.

| The Substance is definitely a board that you can improve on... It has great pop and rides awesome.. just search for threads about the Substance; there's nothing but great reviews. You'll love it. |

I don't no if the PS3 has more pop. The 134 Substance has a 2.5'' rocker and the 133 PS3 has a 2.3'' rocker. |

Thanks for the links. No matter, I am getting the Substance. As i sayed before it is in the mail i just am excited and was wanting to know what it would feal like riding. It was the highest grade board with a package. Oh yeah i didn't say i got the transit package. So i am sure the landings will be soft. |

| Rode the substance for the second half of last year and really liked it. Does have really nice pop. 2 things I didn't like about it was that it was a little slow and landings were a little harsh. So I went ahead and picked up the PS3 this year and it's basically a quicker substance with softer landings. Substance is a great board though. To me the pop is pretty similar. |

How is the board slow? Is that because it is pretty wide? lol hell when i get it i am going to put a coat of wax on is to that will help, but what makes boards slow? Thanks

Slow meaning when on edge it doesn't accelerate as fast as a lot of boards do. The pop is really nice so you don't need a lot of speed with the board to get great pop. I just prefer a board that accelerates a little faster. I rode the LF Team before the Substance which is about the fastest board you'll find so it really made the substance feel like a pig. PS3 is about in the middle of those two and doesn't sacrifice any pop. You'll like your substance, don't worry. |

Hey thanks for the reassurance. I have been thinking about it lately and I think I made the right choice about what board to bye. I am an intermediate rider and I think the substance will give me what I need to become more advanced and when I get good enough I will probably get a pro board, if I think its necessary. |
