Last year I moved to SC from Southern California. I live on lake murray. I have surfed for many years and want to get back on a board so I want to take up wakeboarding. As a begginer what boards are good? Where can I get one from? My price range is under $300 preferably. If it helps any I own a Sea Doo RXT 215hp and probably use that most of the time because my other option is a 130hp pontoon boat. Thanks for any input.

metallicarocks28, you should definitely try wakeskating instead. since you are a surfer it will much more natural for you to not wear bindings and alos most wakeskaters ride behind jet skis anyways. you dont need a huge wake to wakeskate. and the best wakeskates available are under 300 bucks. to start out you should check out devotid wakeskates which run for about $150 or if you are willing to pay more go for an Integrity Team($240) or Integrity Carpe Diem($280) which will last you for ever _________________ www.calmarinesports.com

Jon - Go demo if you have the opportunity. Some of our local shops will apply the demo rental fees towards your purchase of the board you decide on. If no demo, find other people to borrow from. If no people to borrow from, try looking for used boards online. Best of luck to you.
Ride DH - Try wakeskating and see for yourself. Be sure to kick the board away from you when you feel like you're going to bail so you don't do the splits and cause some serious damage. Most wakeskaters I've run into do have a skateboarding background and it is helpful as far as tricks go but not a prerequisite by any means. Get out there and ride |
