Big thanks to Kyle (Aka: K-dub) for hooking us up and for working his ass off to get us get the boat on a tight deadline. Also thanks to Scotta who drove the boat 12 hours to get it up to us. After 7 hours I must say that this boat is a superb craft.

Great choice!

SAN didn't make it over to the lake this year. About 45 miles into our 75 mile journey some one traveling the opposite direction's trailer came off of their RV (as in the hitch came un-welded from the frame of their RV) luckily it missed us. However it nailed the boat, and totaled it. (36k was the estimate without starting to tear it down to check for more damage.) It's was pretty much every boat owners nightmare.

Diggs, definitely. Hit me up if you ever end up in Florence and I'll try to hook you up. (where we keep the boat.)

ooooh isn't that by the dunes? we have always wanted to go down and ride the quads there. THe only reason we don't is we hate wasting the summers away from the boat. One of these times. T hanks and that is a crappy storry. Sorry to hear!

It's hard to compare the 2 boats, they are entirely different animals, both have their advantages, and both have their disadvantages...
Pros: VLX
*Not as sensitive to weight changes
*Stock wake is much larger
*Boat is 6" wider and 6" longer= way more room
*Storage.
*Power Wedge
*Solid-ness through Double ups/chop

Pros: SAN
*Knew boat in and out
*Less weight reqired for wakesurfing
*Fit and finish. (Don't get me wrong the Malibu's are awesome, but the fit and finish on CC's are hard to beat.)
*Has very distinct lines.
*Handling

Both boats were/are amazing, we're still getting used to the VLX. But both of them are excelent boats, I don't think

DRAGON88,
Good to see your like it. I personally really like how malibus are really roomy in the cockpit. I find that mastercrafts aren't that roomy there.

PS. Lovin the boat, although we only have about 38 hours on her.

Obligatory wake picture stock ballast+ 300lb sac in the bow (boat doesn't have the stock bow ballast.)+5 people. So essentially this is the VLX wake in sock form.

I rode behind my first '06 VLX last week and I was impressed. He was running stock ballast = 1250 plus the wedge and the wake was great. There were only 3 of us in the boat.

Sick man.

Almost though didst make a Malibu man out of me.

Amazing colors Dragon. Sorry to hear about the SAN. When I heard you were getting this I was thinking that that was good news for me because I could someday own yours. RIP SAN.

But seriously, Bu's are usually too flashy for me but yours is definitely classy. (with some good flash too.)

WattsBarRiDr, I like teak better, personally speaking I think that the teak holds up better and is worth the extra effort of keeping it looking nice.

Fiberglass platforms are great, but just can't stand up to the abuse as well IMO.

Plus K-dub had to hijack the platform from his friend's boat to put it on mine. Laughing

Since the thread got bumped, we've gotten rid of the tribal and I think it looks great.

Much better, not that there was anything wrong. I just don't like the tribal stuff.
