hey girls! :p
girl to girl hehe, i don't like alot of the designs on the girls wakeboards/ wakeskate boards , are these 'girls' boards made specifically for girls in the shape or size? would i be disadvantaged if i got a guys one? i guess i'd have to get a small one, i'm 5ft 7
thank yooooouuu ~x~ |

| Girl boards are mostly based off of a guy board just with different graphics. I have found that even if I wanted a girl board they dont make one big enough for me so I have to use a guy board anyway. Also height doesnt matter as much as weight does. Good luck finding a board. I am still looking for my perfect match but I have been very happy demoing a 135 and 145 Hyperlite State board. I think if I decide to get it I will get the 140. |

NightAngel is correct. I purchased a Liquid Force Nemesis 131 for a lot less money than buying the similar girl's board (Liquid Force Cadence 131). You would not be disadvantaged at all. I prefer the graphics on the guys boards more...if only LF made a smaller Watson...although then I'd match my boyfriend's board but who cares...it's a great board.
Here's what I posted on another discussion board:
Interestingly enough I have found the specs for the 2006 Liquid Force Cadence 131 and the 2006 Liquid Force Nemesis 131 to be very similar.
The following are the same for both boards:
Length: 131.9 cm
Mid Width: 41.3 cm
Rocker: 6.3 cm
Rocker Type: Progressive 3-stage
Stance Range: 16-22"
Construction: Polycore Polyurethane
The only differences I've found so far are:
Cadence 131 Rider weight: 70-150 Lbs.
Nemesis 131 Rider weight: 75-150 Lbs.
Cadence 131 Fin Configuration: One LBR 1.2" center fin & 2 molded-in side fins
Nemesis 131 Fin Configuration: One LBC 1.5" center fin & 2 molded-in side fins
Cadence 131 MSRP: $369.99
Nemesis 131 MSRP: $199.99
I've also heard that the core construction slightly differs as the Cadence 131 has Maven Construction which is a unique blend of biaxial fiberglass, boot print glass, and aercore whereas the Nemesis 131 has bi-axial fiberglass only.
ThaneDog posted the following in response to my post which I found beneficial:
Alright, I'm going to set everyone straight. It is the same mold, however it is not a scam. The Cadence 131 is wrapped more times with fiberglass. The results of this make it a stronger, stiffer, more responsive blah blah blah. The nemesis 131 was to target the consumer who didn't want to pay as much, but still get the same ride. This consumer also won't notice the differences in performance. Just thought you all should know, and no it's not a scam.
You can always tell the high-performance board, from a soft entry level board by, you guessed it, price.
Same mold. Different construction. Will you notice the difference? Probably not, but now you know. |

| 131 seems like a small board for someone who's 5'7"IMO. i ride a 142 & am 5'7" but i have always ridden longer boards & prefer longer boards... |

Yeah...I'd go a larger size. I was mainly answering the first part of the post about guys boards vs. girls boards. Sorry if I caused any confusion. I ride anything from a 131 to a 142 and am 5'4". Longer boards = better stability but harder to do spin tricks since I'm so small. Thanks for pointing that out aubs. |

hey - ive just got a gator - desire, its a really good board and the graphics arent too girly. it is exactly the same shape as my boyfriends new gator - ricky gonzales. so its the same board with different graphics. i really would advise looking at the gator boards. if u dont like the girls graphics then just get a blokes board in the right size.
good luck!! _________________ Coop |
