88 Ski Nautique - Ford or Chev ?

I am looking for an older Nautique. I found a Nautique with a Chev 350 which apparantly came from the factory. I thought they were all 351 Windsors. Anyone else have an older Nauti with the Chev 350 in it. How do the two compare ? Anyone ?

I think you might have found the bare foot nautique wich came from the factory with a chev 454. Theese motor's have alot of extra ponies(i wish I had one) for getting you up on plain when alot of weight is in the boat. I could be wrong, but this is what it sounds like to me!! Very good hull for wakeboarding.

i find it hard to believe you could confuse a chevy 350 and a 454, they dont look anything a like

From waht i knwo and IMO the chevy 350 is a better engine, they squeeze out more ponies and are smoother.

the 351's seem to be a bit more tourqy then the chevy.

they are both great engine and since i think new fords suck engines and drivtrains encluded. but the older 351 are great engines ive never really liked fords at all but there engines are great.

and as far as a 454 they are great, we have a 455 in are boat and there nice and tourqey. only prob is when u run em wide open for a long period of time the oil pump cant keep up, that is usally the prob wiht all big blocks but if it is a 454 snag it there cheap belive it or not to repair because there are SOOO many parts for them and u can find alot of used parts as well. Easy to maintain.

No this Nautique came with a factory PCM350 Chev engine. That is why I was asking. The owner knows the original owner and he ordered that way from the factory. Anyway I was just wondering the differences between the two. I must admit I am more of a Chev man than a Ford man. Just my 2 cents !
