Yeah, you know, a 1/8" stereo input plug on your dash. Just plug in your iPod and you hear your MP3s through the boat or car stereo.
How complicated would it be to install one Myself? Can this be done on almost any stereo?

If the head unit has an AUX IN, you're there... _________________ just broad reachin' thru life... |

It is so nice having the AUX Input, I have one in my car, just go buy RCA to mini headphones and your all set.
My new stereo in the boat has a "real" ipod connection(connects at the bottom) and it SUCKS! the stereo can't control the ipod at all, I have to go through my entire playlist instead of just going to a certain song, it's a pain in the ass! _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

Laugh Damon - yeah, I just threw a new Panasonic deck in my boat about 3 weeks ago - thinking the ipod control would be so cool... it's nice that it charges the iPod and has a remote, but navigating the iPod is a b*tch... I end up unplugging it, getting where I want, then plugging back in... I like how my truck is - I can control next/back, forward/reverse and pause through my factory deck and steering wheel, but can always use the iPod too to navigate.
Anyway - Willy - yeah, as long as the deck has an Aux IN - most do these days - just a set of RCA's. Just get yourself a stereo RCA to Stereo 1/8" cable - very standard. Some company (belkin I think - I can find it if you're interested) makes a setup that plugs into a cig. lighter and has an aux-out on the base of the cig lighter - letting you power the iPod and getting a clean aux. out to feed into the stereo - that's what I was going to get before I got new deck. |

| A lot of times stereos that do not have rca in can be added on like pioneer can add a p-bus 20.00 just plugs into the back of the stereo and hooks to your Ipod. Works great for me |
