Hello folks.
My first post here. I came across this site while Googling some wakeboard stuff. Brand new to wakeboarding and to this forum (but not new to online forums).
My name is Dave and I'm from Hilton Head Island, SC. I've lived here for 19 years and managed to resist boat fever every year until this year. I finally gave in.
Memorial Day Weekend I bought my first boat.
Tahoe Q4L. Not exactly an X-Star, but I think it will be ok for a rookie.
I've never wakeboarded before, but I did ski quite a bit as a teenager. Since buying the boat, I got real interested in wakeboarding really quick. This week, I bought an entry level board (Hydroslide Black Widow) at the Boater's World store near my house and tomorrow I'm trying it out for the first time. Planning to take my buddy (who is a parasail captain) to drive the boat.
If I survive, I'll come back here and post some pics or vid of a newbie's very first wakeboard experience. Might be some good crashes!
BTW, I lurked here some before posting. Looks like a lot of good info. I'll be back. |

Man, you can hear the crickets chirping in this thread.
Anyway, got out on the board yesterday for the first time. Here's the video. Just beginner type stuff, but I fall a few times on tape...that's always good for a laugh, right?

I downloaded this VIDEO for $3.99 and it really answered a lot of questions I had before I even went out there. Talks about setting up the board, how to start off, stance, basic tricks, etc. I've seen a lot of the same questions asked on this forum that I had. Most of them were answered by the video. |
