Hey everyone I started trying tantrums after about 1 or 2 months on the water and stuck 2 then but still can't get them consistently. I get the pop and the rotation except i always naturally do a fs 180 and either land switch which equals falling for me or i do like a fs 90 and eat it. How do I keep from spinning? Thanks. _________________ I can do that. |

I can USUALLY land switch but probably need more practice. My biggest problem is spinning a 90 degree turn and landing perpendicular to the wake. Any suggestions _________________ I can do that. |

i'm gonna explain it step by step
1. make your edge to the wake, edge all the way until the peak of the wake.
2. at the peak of the wake turn the board parallel with the wake and drop your back hand.
3. throw your head back and open your chest to the sky
4.in the air pull your knees into your chest to throw your body into the spin.
5. look straight up (this should help prevent spin) and keep your shoulders straight don't turn them
6. spot your landing and watch the water come back and plant your feet _________________ only love i have... is for the lake

I had the same problem and had to do this...think about this on the way in, when you are squaring your shoulder to the wake and let go with the back hand, make a hard effort at pushing the handle down with a locked elbow to your front hip. Then on the way down when you spot your landing do it again. What you are doing is hucking the flip by pulling the rope to complete the rotation...doing this will do three things, make you wait for the pop (prevent going early), square up with the rotation of the flip, and prevent you from pulling the rope across your body (which makes you turn in the air). This also helps if you overrotate it. _________________ Don't look at me in that tone! |

Thanks for the help everyone I jus got coached by Kyle Schmidt yesterday at a clinic thing. He said no progressive edge on this one, instead get lots of speed going befor the wake and all the speed you have should be built up before the trough of the wake so that it carries. Then, when reach the trough I can square up more. I gues by doing progressive edge on this one I wasn't leaving enough time to square up and was still leaving slightly angled to the wake. BTW hes a great guy and he rips!! _________________ I can do that. |
