Anybody know of a problem with having sanded wood as the sliding surface for a rail. In combination with wax, vaseline, or vegetable shortening wouldn't this be adequate? Thanks for the help, this is our first slider and we are trying to keep the $'s down on this first try.
Make sure you sand that wicked good though. You fall and get a splinter in the backside its going to hurt, bad. Personally I would go out and buy some cheap PVC pipe and put that down to make sure I was splinter free.
