I have found a 1998 205 with 600 hours on it for 20k. does this sound like a good deal. i rember reading that this is the same hull as the origianl xstars. I know this boat is a DD and the xstar is a vdrive. does that make a differnce except for the engine placement and weight distribution and is the hull still the same?

I am pretty sure I have ridden behind one and the wake is nice. 20K is probably average but I am just guessing.

AFAIK, the PS205 is the same basic hull as the x-star/x-2/x-1, its just a DD variant and the original X-star was a DD with a pylon based on the PS205.

B/c its a DD the wake characteristics will differ from the v-drive counterpart but with added weight in the correct place I'm sure a comparible wake is very possible. I've never ridded behind the ps205, but ride an 00 x-star regularly and its definately one of my favorite wakes.

I have no idea if that price is good/bad/avg so take a look at NADA.com and Boattrader/flipsell to get a better idea of market value.

I paid $24k for my '99 PS 205 DD with 140 hours on it. The only extra it had was a Titan tower.

I sold a '99 with about 400 hrs on it, no tower or PP for around $20K. That was last summer I think.
