If you are wanting to jump off just wait til the line is starting to get tight and then tell the boat to go before you jump and then lean back. It's pretty easy if you're comfortable on a wakeboard but I wouldnt suggest it for people just starting out.

i like to start sitting down on the dock with my feet in the water for the first few times of the season just to get comfortable. and then do what paus21 said when you are comfortable enough.

Figured I'd hit you back since you replied to me Smile ...Basically what both of them said....sitting down is easier...just got to make sure your board is ready to go and pointed in the right direction, may have to twist ur hips a bit on the dock. If you can get the sitting start down, the only trick to the standing one is jumping at just the right time. I recommend timing your jump to the rope going taut just as you start to come back down from your jump. You also have to lean way back, or the sudden pull on your hands is going to over-rotate your nose right into the water...hope it helps Smile

my brother jumped off like a 3 1/2 or 4 ft dock tuesday. it was awesome looking but you have to be spot on with that kind of height.

I highly do not reccomend jumping off the dock until you are very comfortable with wakeboarding. It gives you the potential to eat it REAL hard, so I highly reccomend getting alot more comfortable with wakeboarding first, and definitely trying it while sitting down.

yea it's alot easier to get up that way than deep water starts, plus you don't get wet haha, but definitely start it sitting down, jumping off is pretty pointless, just scratches the bottom of your board, only go with that if you want it for a quick little clip in your video slideshow

I have actually dock started, and pulled myself up the rope (it was pretty short) as the boat slowed down, to where I reached the boat just as the driver put it to idle. Doing this I was able to get from the dock, a bit around the lake, and into the boat without getting my bathing suit wet. Smile
