Hi from Ireland - Season has just started here and once again, I have managed to cut my right inside ankle somehow with my 2004 LF transit binding. It normally cuts during HS w2w 180. I ride regular.

I will need some waterproof bandaid squares all year now.

Any thoughts?

i was wakeskating shoeless like an idiot like 2 years back and i feel and cut up the size of my ankle..then whenever i'd wakeboard the bindings would re-open the wound! now i have a scar there! just thought i'd share the experience with the world.

you could try wrapping your ankle in athletic tape

OK I had a look at my right binding and discovered 2 sharp rivets that come through from the top lace loop. They have been cutting my ankle every time I have been out. The other binding has a piece of material sewen in over the rivets.

I dont know why it took me this long to work this out

I am anoyed that LF bindings come equipped with a sharp, cutting device capible of causing pain every time I'm out. I got them in the end of season 2004.

Do you think if I return these I would get a free new pair? Should I just try and fix the sharp rivet somehow? Just need your advise...

well, you could TRY and fix it yourself, i wouldnt think theyd still be under warranty, but you could talk to your shop you bought them at, they may be able to work a solution. or contact LF directly, or through the shop and see what they say.

AndyDeeJay,

A friend of mine experienced the same thing with his 04' Transits. Funny, the 05's have a larger ankle wrap that goes around, up and over the tongue so the lace loops don't touch your skin. Think it was a common gripe? That said, you may want to put some Goo (tube repair like stuff) over all the rivets. It seemed to help out.
