I figure that I can mount this to the top rail of the boat about 18"-24" behind the drivers seat (so as not to be in the way). Here's the boat
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this approach. I'm trying to get 4+ boards of the floor of the boat and make room to move around and possibly add some sacs.
id put those mounts right behind the windshield. its a percaution just incase you ever decide to do some nice power turns. if you'll stick to boarding then personally id mount them directly in parallel to the engine. your racks are a good idea, you should use 8 bolts per a rack. You'll proboly have to reinforce since (mistake me if im wrong) but your boat has storage on the sides. typically the fiberglass on the top right over the sides is thin and weak so reinforcing is a good idea.
