Hi Ladies.
I get tired very easily. I'm in my early 40s. I just want to compare if physically I am about average, and see how other ladies of various age groups do as well.
I usually ride about 12-15 mins each session, and 2 sessions per boat trip (max of 3 sessions and I'm dead tired). Started last summer. Am still working on my inconsistant HS w2w. |

Thats not bad. How many falls does that included? I ride for about 30 min with 4 to 5 falls. My hands start craping before anything. A real hard fall will take it out of me sooner. _________________ Its hard being a chick rider, you have to know how to ride, and make sure your still wearing your bikini after busting. |

For me it all depends on who I am riding with. If its just my family or a couple of friends, then I will ride longer than like criswb said if I am in others boats or with lots of people.
But I agree, after a bad spill I am done. |

Thanks ladies.
I usually fall 2 - 4 times within 15 mins. If I ride with people, usually is with 1 friend(15 mins each session), many times I ride alone. My girlriend who started with me same time, same age, just told me that she can wake for 1/2 hour, and max 45min with little breaks in the water.
I now work on my stepper to build my cardiovascular tolerance. Also, yesterday I have changed boards from a 134 to 133 and brought my stance closer by 1 hole. My back thigh muscle did not burn and front foot did not cramp as much. I used to ride the widest stance because my knee hurts. This time its OK and I was not as tired. but 15min was max for me no matter what.
Drbubie, Strack: My hand cramps as well, when my boat makes a turn, I usually hook my arm around the handle to give it a rest. |

It depends what I'm doing. I get really short of breath if I'm doing stuff w2w both heelside and toeside, but not so much if I'm just kind of cruising. If I'm learning something new, it depends how hard the crashes are..
But i usually take a few 20-30 minute sessions. |

I'm pretty new, I like to try different things and dick around a little bit so usually I go for 5-10 mins. My legs start to hurt first and then my hands cramp. Yeahhhhhhhhhh

I have been considering it for a while, instead 2 months ago I bought online a rope and handle all in one for women(?). I wasnt pleased because I felt the rope was not strong enough, and the handle was small enough for kids (I have given it to my son). I think I will get the LF Angel when it goes on sale (if ever), how about rope, do you recommend a brand and the model of the rope as well? |

The guys tease me all the time about sucking up the gas because I will ride until I can't hang on to the handle anymore. That's probably why I have permanent callouses. _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |

The type of handle you use def makes a difference in how long you can ride. At least it does for me. _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |

Buy one that you can use at the distance you like to ride at, and make sure its a zero stretch rope. Here are some links... stay away from Poly-E, they have some stretch, spectra from my point of view is the best. You can search in ebay for great prices (my bf found his rope there for $50) |
IMO, Straightline makes the best wakeboard ropes. The Viper line can be a bit spendy but it is definitely worth it. I've had mine for about 5 years now and it still looks brand new.
The Thermal line is basically a plastic coated Alloy line (another rope SL makes) and has the least stretch of any of the ropes, but the plastic coating can get annoying and also tends to crack after a while.
The Alloy is a very nonstretch rope that won't stay looking brand new forever, but it runs on the less expensive side for what it is.
As far as handles go, definitely go with the grip that best suits you. I think the carbon handles are fun, but all of them save the Eclipse (SL) have huge grips that will severely hurt your hands.
I'll also throw out that wearing gloves might make your hands warmer, but it will not increase your riding time. The extra material will make the handle bigger and harder to hold and actually tends to make for soreness/stiffness after riding. The material on the gloves also tears the foam on the handle. |

I go until my butt hurts and burns. Or I fall three times. So about 20 min.
I have huge hands and so far the handle has not been an issue. My legs turn to jello before my hands get tired. Then again, I am 36, overweight, and just learning. |

| I have been meaning to try out the Angel handle. I am just using a straightline handle and rope that my hubby uses. I can ride for 15 to 20 mins per set and usually only have time for 2 sets if the water is rough. If its nice I can maybe go for 3 sets. I am learning one wake jumps and almost getting into w2ws so I am falling alot. |

Hi ladies,
I finally bought the LF Angel handle 1 week ago. My friend knew the shop owner and got me a discount. However, the weather has been bad for more than a week. will post when I get it tested.
By the way, might get the Viper ropes as suggested because on my last run, the boat driver drove over my rope and broke it. Bad luck, I have to spend more money. I might hold out a bit and use others rope. |

HI Ladies! Tried the LF Angel Handle 2days in a roll.
Report 1: Size: Initially holding it doesnt feel any large difference except a wee smaller.
Report 2: Felt just as strong as a man's handle. No difference.
Report 3: day after last ride, my callous did not build up. In fact they seem to flatten out . So thats the good news.
Report 4: On my second day of ride, I did get a slight cramp in my hand, but much lesser than previous handle. Also, that day I rode more than usual though.
So far I'm quite pleased with the handle, at least I wont be self-conscious when I shake people's hands. Will report again after extended period of time.
Thanks ladies for the advise. As for rope, I have finally decided to use the money to buy a Wakeboard bag with wheels instead.. |
