ok so im going to buy a Rockford 1200 Watt subwoofer, the jackass at the store was like no, it shouldnt be put in boats because its not waterproof, im like screw you. Anyways I want to build a typical plywood encloseaur, cover it up with carpet or whatever but then use plexy glass and just build like a box that the encloseaur can sit in.

I could see heat being an issue if you build an enclosure around the amp.

just put the sub and amp where it will not get too wet. my brother has 4 infinity 12s in his blazer. his back window leaks and water gets onto them sometimes, he just cranks the bass and throws the water off. not a problem yet and they have been in there for 8 months and have hit a 149. just try to be caareful where you position the box.

dude dont build a plywood box then cover it with plexiglass that will throw the sound off sooo bad your best bet would of been to buy a boat one from rockford, just build a whole plexiglass box put some neons so it looks cool if you want and have the sub fire down, dont port the box so water wont get stuck inside

Lowdraq said it, if you dont vent the enclosure or you hold the heat in with carpet your amp will overheat and shut off.
