05 state

Right now im riding the 05 135 state and was wondering what your opinions are on it and if it is a good board. im 5' 10" and 135 lbs. I bought it when i was just learning and now im starting to get a little better (backroll, almost tantrum) should i upgrade? if so what board and what size?...watson?

I ride a 2005 145cm State and love it, but I'm still pretty much a beginner so I can't comment on your issue of upgrading. What makes you think you should upgrade? Are you feeling like the board's holding you back or are you just thinking that upgrading is what people do as they get better?

Thats a perfect size for you. Its still fine for your level too, I rode the same board pretty much all last year.

I basically want to know if the board would be holding me back...i guess? would it be easier to progress on a more top of the line board? and how does my board compare to a 138 watson? is it that much of a difference?

lots of pros ride the state if thats what ur asking, i ride it and its not holding me back, its a really tight board heel and toe and has nice pop and soft landings, im 5 11' and 150 and i ride a 135 its awsome

Hey Man, my buddy Matt Rides a '05 State 130 with REALLY crappy boots from CWB. He throws Raleys, TS Backrolls, Backrolls. Tantrums, etc. The board has never held him back. I got a '06 Watson 138 with the '06 Transits, if you DO upgrade then that's a great choice. But you really dont need to.
