I just started wakeboarding a week ago. The Hyperlite package I bought came with recommendations for how to setup my bindings. It says for beginners to set the bindings as far back on the board as they will go, with your back foot at 0 degrees and the front foot at 18 degrees. For intermediate it says to move the both bindings forward one notch, and change the back foot to 9 degrees. For advanced both bindings are at 9 degrees, centered on the board. I set the bindings up for a beginner and have become relatively comfortable with the setup (I can cross the wake in both directions, do little one wake jumps, and kind of spin the board to ride revert.) Within the first day I changed my front foot to 9 degrees, but kept the bindings all the way back. The next weekend, I changed the bindings to the intermediate set-up and had a harder time staying stable, so I switched back to the beginner setup (with my front foot at 9 degrees again.) Is there a rule of thumb for when I should change the bindings to the intermediate setup? What tricks should I be able to do before I change?
thanks,
timmy

When I said riding revert, I think I meant riding switch (still facing the boat, but with my back foot forward.)

I dont really think you should/can base it from tricks...it all has to do with what you are comfortable with... when you switch the setup for the bindings it will be harder to use off the bat just because it will feel akward but after a session or so you will feel at home with your new setup, and you dont have to follow Hyperlite's recomendations either, just do what feels comfortable. But I would highly recomend that you change the back foot out of the 0 degree position because your foot has a natural tendency to face outwards a bit..
theres my 2 cents Razz
