I picked up a couple of pairs of Skylon Defcon IIs this past week. I got 4 speakers for $700. They were originally priced for $700 a pair. I think I got a pretty good deal, did I? They have the carbon fiber cans, which wouldnt be my first choice but... I am aware they are now on Defcon IVs. These were all brand new in the box.

I'm also looking at putting two JL Audio marine 10s in my boat too. Are these pretty water resistant?

Thanks for the input!

Trainwreck, Kind of off topic, but just be sure to keep the cans away from anything that will scratch them as any little scratch will completely ruin the carbon fibre... Starting to happen to my roadbike's seat post.

The deafcon II's are overpriced to begin with but for a couple pairs you got a decent deal. you woudl have been much happier spending an extra $100 and getting a pair of the wetsound's pro 80's. better overall sound quality and much louder with less power. Skylon throws kicker component speakers in some good looking cans.....you cna find just as good or better for less than what they retail at. The marine JL subs are the best soudnign free air sub IMO, but if you want bass don't waste you time with those, get a custom built box made and drop yoru sub of choice.
