Yeah, definately congrats to him!! The boat almost looks like a manufactured boat just from how clean everything is. It must have been an incredible feeling to ride behind it for the first time!

Thats crazy... It would have taken him ages, but yeah, hats off to him!
Building anything from scratch is hard enough, let alone a full wakeboarding boat... definately a solid effort...

Big time hands down to him. Not only did he make it himself but it look awesome too. Wish i was able to make a boat like that. Closest i would get is a couple logs tied together.

Thats awsome. I have always wanted a nice polished up wooden boat. If i could make it look clean, and make it strong, i would really think about it. But a wooden wakeboard boat would be awsome. I would leave the floors natural too.

That is very impressing! But using steel would make this boat enormous heavy!? Good since you probably won`t need any fatsacks or ballast, but when you don`t want it in the water but on a trailer, and when you want to save fuel?

But props to this guy!

If you look closely, you can see that the side of the boat is still parallel with the water, and a foot to 18" above the waterline. Its not actually nosing over at all. Its merely splashing water infront of the bow and hidingthe boat. The top two tubes of the tower, and all the horizontal supports are slanted, not flat, this gives the impression that the boat is nosed over, even though its not.

This looks pretty close to nosing in... of course, I've been in 60k boats that take a ton of water over the bow.

helluva DIY job, though..

That boat is amazing. If you look at the placement of the engine. It is pretty far forward. Compare the location of that engine to that of an XTI. The engine is further back which compromises space in the back for lounging cause his lounge area is pretty huge for a 21 foot boat. The weight of this boat is unreal, but it will last forever because the fact that it is made out of steel.

That would be so cool to build your own boat. You could set up balast tanks wherever you wanted...not that you need them on a 6000 pound boat but for surfing and stuff.

Someone needs to get in contact with this guy and find out how much it cost him. If it were something like 20,000 dollars I bet someone else would try it.

So the wake rolls over, cleans up, then rolls over again?

heh?

That wake has to be softer than warm butter if it's doing that.
