home made pylon

what up i run exhuast and work in a mechanic shop so i decided to make a pylon i took a old stand a put a 21/2 tube pipe on and welded truck ball to the top for the rope i was going to bolt it to the bottom and run one cable to the nose of the boat with a rachet strap and the two cables to the back to make a pryamid shape. but my parents wouldnt let me put it on cause i could get hurt. do yall think this is safe or not

the universial pylons are made of less i had to steel poles equaled out to be half in thick

I had made one like that before I bought a tower and I made it well. Used good hardware, double checked everything.....It was very solid, but I still couldn't quit thinking what would happen if the cable snapped off the bow.
