alright guys, i finally got a video of me jumping so now i'm laying it all out there.

problems i know of: i'm not edging all the way through, i'm flattening out and loosing speed and not loading the line, i'm working on that now,

anything else blatantly wrong with me?

haha you make it seem like you are completely horrible but i watched the video and its not as bad as i was expecting, nothing is blatantly wrong except the you don't keep your edge through the wake and stand tall like you already said so just work on that and you should be fine. is there anything specific trick that you're trying to learn?

Craig: specific tricks that i'm working on now would be 180's and i tried some 3's last weekend, that video was 2 weekends ago but i just got the source, but i'm really just trying to get more air so i can hold grabs longer and perhaps add some style

Wannabee yea its a ski rope, the attached image is of my dad, who's much better at skiing that i am at wakeboarding. we had a wakeboarding handle, but he bent it in the middle and tore the grip, so until we get a replacement i have to use the ski rope, though i'm not using it at full length.

you might want to put off trying 3's until you get a non-stretch rope with a good handle because it is 1000x harder to pass the handle with a stretch rope because of the line tension. also, landing 3's will be a lot easier once you get your 180's dialed and grab those too. good luck!

x2 on the ski rope, its soo much harder to build line tension on a stretch ski line, you'll get more pop w/ a non-stretch spectra line.

yea, we went out today and bought a wakeboard handle and rope, but i think its still a strech line, so i'll just have to deal with that. as for the handle pass w/ the ski rope, i choose to just raise the handle above my head instead of trying to pass, it looks goofy, but it worked every time, it was that landing thing that didn't work.

craig, I have heard to use a spectra line, period. could you explain why?My 3's are sloppy and not too consistent. would a spectra make them look better and go THAT MUCH easier?

Robert Harp, a spectra rope shouldn't make a great difference if you aren't going huge on your 3's. On ski ropes, the handles are usually narrower so your passes might be harder to grab. I have a low stretch poly-e line right now and am hoping to step up to spectra some time soon but I'm having no problems spinning and getting the air for it... I can just never land them Evil or Very Mad

Anyways if you have a ski line, it will be a lot worse to ride on than poly-e so anything less stretchy would help.

Robert Harp, well it depends on what rope you have now, because a quality non-stretch rope can make a huge different especially with 360's

Spectra is 1000% better than a ski rope. I can barely clear the wake with a ski rope. (seriously, couldnt even clear it TS at all) but with a spectra I can clear it HS/TS and switch HS/TS, do 360s and backrolls. Its a HUGE difference. You can get a cheap spectra rope on ebay for probably 40 bucks and its more important than a tower/fat sack and even boat. Youll be glad you did it!
