|

I currently have a 14X18 OJ Nibral on my 99 Sunsetter VLX - 325 hp Monsoon that needs to be reworked and I really need a spare prop anyway.
The question: I found a really good deal on a Cutter 14 X 18.5 (which Cutter says is acceptable on my boat) but I'm concerned about losing any holeshot.
Opinions? |

I believe 14 is the pitch and 18.5 is the diameter, so I'm guessing you would gain holeshot as long as you engine had enough power, which it should.

Thanks Nick - I've decided to just go for it - if I don't like it I'll use it as the spare.
I think that 18.5 is the pitch though - i did a half ass measurement of the existing prop and it looks like its 14". |

If you want beter holeshot, I'm 98% sure you need to go the other direction. I have a 14 X 18 and I'm switching to a 13.5 X 16.5. Guessing from the slight difference between the numbers I'm changing to, and the extra holeshot that I'm expected to get according to Acme Prop company, I would guess that you might notcie a difference. Not sure though. _________________ If it doesn't fit, put some lube on it!!! |
