I was wondering the same thing.

Are the bindings so secure that your feet just don't slide forward enough to stub your toes? Or is there some sort of cusion in the front of the bindings that surrounds your toes?

well theres is some cushion up front but im sure on a hard enough landing you may bang a toe but IMO i dont think its any worse then having your foot slide through the front of the binding..

Ive seen people have to be cut out of bindings before or even worse broke there ankle or tore ligaments because of this .....

Ill take a stub toe over cutting my bindings or hurting my ankle/foot do to sliding through the front..

anyway something to think about

I asked the same question to one of the proshop guys, said he's locked in tight, no slide. I would like anything that would keep me from sliding forward, that's when I hurt the hammie. Sad

here's something to think about:

What plays a part in your foot sliding forward in your boots is the foot pad compressing so much that it enlarges the toe opening on the binding and your foot slides through. The foot pad decompresses and your foot gets stuck.

What causes the foot pad to compress is your foot, and the pressure that the toe rubber is putting on the top of your foot. A heel-heavy landing is usually what makes the foot slide forward. Think about how much farther you could shove your foot out the front of your binding if you cut the back 2/3's of the footbad off.

The answer to cure the foot sliding forward dilemma is properly fitted, snug, not tight boots, and the correct density of the footpad.

I think that's why we're starting to see more and more multi-density footpads.
