My mate has a bayliner, 18ft I think. We bought a fat sac (180 litres)for it the other week and it made a huge improvement to the wake. Would putting another, i.e. 2 fat sacs be too much. would it improve the wake or would it bog the boat down too much?

Depends on the boat really. I have a friend who's boat wont go anywhere if theres more then five people in it. My boat is a 21 foot and it handles my two fat sacks fine. we have even done two in the back and one up front in the middle which made a nice wake.

As suggested....

If you add a 2nd fatsac you may need to move it closer to the front. It will help you plane easier with the added weight.

I use a walk thru, run-about vs a ski-boat, so I use the following.

Fat sac #1 400lbs across the back on the floor in front of the back seat. It is shifted slightly port if there is only a driver to even the weight.

Fat sac #2 400lbs on the floor aligned with the keel, pushed as close to the bow as possible.

This combo gives me a very good wake and a steady weighting.

So if we only have 1 fatsac in the boat should we have it at the front or back of the boat? We have only been putting it at the front.

If the boat doesnt have trouble plaining out the put it in the middle in the back. If the boat has trouble getting the bow down then move it up, but generally you want more weight in the back to sink the back end down in the water.
